Everything that I love will turn to dust.

Without exception, my friends, my loved ones, my home, my body, my pets - they will change and transform into new forms beyond all recognition. The mortality rate for things that we love is %100.

This is a terrifying fact that we all know deep down. And instead of facing this terror head on, we have built our entire culture, economics, politics, and relating on the subconscious avoidance of death. The more out of sight the processes of death & decline the better. The farther I prolong the inevitable, the firmer my illusion of safety.

But what if our relationship to death, this thing that I try to avoid so assiduously, also contains the seeds of my deepest intimacy with life?

What if death is not a messenger of oblivion, but a master teacher of ecstasy?

What if our sexuality is a doorway to an ecstatic relationship with death?

Everything that I love will indeed turn to dust.

Yet again, and again, I choose to love.

I let my heart be broken open by loving things that are so exquisitely impermanent.

I let my wild soul emerge from the cracks of my broken heart.

I let my radically bold choice to love things that will die bring me into ecstatic presence.

In this workshop, we will explore our relationship with our inevitable demise as a master teacher for intimacy, connection, presence, devotion and purpose.

Like the Diamond Sutra says, if I am a "star at dawn, a bubble in a stream,

a flash of lightning in a summer cloud, a flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream" how do I make love to this life?

This day will combine timeless rituals and contemplations of death with modern practices of neo-tantra, shibari, embodiment, dance and parts work.

I am very excited to collaborate on this project with Bina Taverna who is a master shibari & tantra guide, a pure fireball of love, and a dancer at the edges of life & death.

Your facilitators:

Atilla Çıdam is a facilitator of deeper intimacy with life, death, and eros. He is a transformational coach who creates permissionary containers for people's wild magic to shine through. With his training in tantra, conscious kink, sacred medicine, dance, and shadow-work, Atilla reprogram nervous systems to allow and embody the full range of the ecstatic expression of their life force. He is an ISTA (International School of Temple Arts) faculty, has a PhD in social psychology, and has spent prior lifetimes designing large scale social programs that empower millions to lead fully aligned lives.

Bina is a Shibari & Tantra facilitator with experience since nearly a decade. She has a diverse background in bodywork, sexological bodywork, coaching, kundalini, BDSM, breathwork, polarity integration, dance and movement practices.
